Japanese animatronics company Kokoro updated its Actroid female robot. I first did not get why the Actroid wears a Hello Kitty T-Shirt, until I saw that Kokoro now belongs to the Sanrio Group, who is responsible for the Hello Kitty stuff polluting the world. If you compare the face of the orginal Actroid from 2003 with the current one, you can see that she got much more attractive looking. She looks younger and happier too. The new Actroid version DER2 can apparently deliver more facial expressions. The female robot can still not walk around, but besides that she looks, speaks and behaves very life-like. Apparently you can rent her for 400,000 yen (US$3,500) for 5 days. More details and videos on NewLaunches. See also the Kokoro Dreams site. In 2005 the Actroid actually was renamed to Repliee Q1, seems we are back to Actroid. Also worth looking again at is the Actroid in a Booth Babe out-fit.
